I entered the year after high school

 

What influenced your decision to enter the seminary?

The example and advice from Fr. Brian Christensen and advice from my Mom

 

Who did you talk to about your calling?

My parents and Fr. Brian

 

Why are you pursuing the possibility of a vocation to the priesthood?

It feels like this is where God wants me to be/go

 

What did your family and friends think about your decision to enter the seminary?

My Mom told me to follow my heart and that they would support me no matter what I did. My friends told me to have fun at "Priest school"

 

How familiar were you with seminary before applying?

Not very much until I went on the Info weekend at IHM

 

What do you like about the seminary the most?

The formation and the support I receive from my brother seminarians who are discerning the same thing I am.

 

What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?

There is an analogy that my Mom told me while I was thinking about joining the seminary, "God plays a song in your heart and we're supposed to dance to the music in our heart." Continue to pray about it and if going to the seminary is what you feel that God wants you to do then atleast try it out. In order for you to become the man that God has created you to be you need to act on the grace that He is giving you in order for you to choose to become that man.
