What year did you enter the seminary? Twice, once in 2004 and again in 2009.
What did you do prior to seminary entrance? Completed a biology degree at The University of Northern Colorado
What influenced your decision to enter the seminary? The Holy Spirit, The priests of The Diocese of Rapid City, Steubenville in the Rockies, FOCUS (The Fellowship of Catholic University Students)
Who did you talk to about your calling? My parents, friends, Fr. Christensen
My experience of the Truth and freedom of Christ's love has given me a desire to be an instrument of His love in the vocation of the priesthood.
My immediate family has always been supportive. Many of my friends have offered me their prayers and encouragement. Some of my friends thought it was crazy at first, but with time have become more accepting of my decision.
How familiar were you with seminary before applying? I had visited the seminary a few times in high school before applying, so I was somewhat familiar with it.
What do you like about the seminary the most? It has been a grace-filled time of the Lord leading me to a greater discovery of Himself and myself.
What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary? Be not afraid. If you think the Lord may be calling you to the priesthood, entering the seminary will help you become the man that God has made you to be.
